AllianceBernstein Bets On Asset Gatherers, Avoids Consumer



AllianceBernstein Institutional Asset Management's U.K. Growth Fund aims to invest in companies that show under-appreciated potential and are growing faster than consensus estimates, said Robert Alster, senior v.p. and European/U.K. growth team leader. It takes a bottom-up stock picking approach to buy companies whose growth potential appears likely to outpace market expectations.

It is a relatively concentrated portfolio of 40-60 stocks, targeting a 2% annualized outperformance of the FTSE All-Share Index before fees. The investment decisions are driven by a combination of fundamental and quantitative research; there are 70 growth-focused analysts located in markets around the world.
